Serve Team

The Serve Team connects DeerGrove with ministries and service opportunities locally and globally. We seek to ensure DeerGrove is making a difference in our community and beyond.

Palatine Opportunity Center
The Palatine Opportunity Center (POC) connects underserved residents of the Palatine area to services and resources in order to build a community of empowered people, healthy families, and vibrant neighborhoods. We serve with the POC in many ways including tutoring, mentoring, and hands-on projects. The most regular way to engage with DeerGrove and the POC is through Birthday Club.

POC Birthday Club—Monthly during the school year, we host a birthday party for the children at one of the POC after-school sites. Contact us to sign-up for the next Birthday Club.

Other Local Involvement
Through Thanksgiving baskets for the Palatine Food Pantry, serving at local events, and a variety of individual involvement in the community (Rotary Club, volunteering at schools, etc.), we engage in service in our local community. Are you involved in service to the local community or do you have an opportunity for DeerGrove to participate? Please let us know by email.

DeerGrove has responded very generously and many families sponsor children through Covenant Kids Congo (CKC). Learn more about Covenant Kids Congo.

Covenant World Relief

Covenant World Relief (CWR) is the ECC’s response to disaster and human suffering around the world. Covenant World Relief joins God in loving, serving, and working together with the poor, the powerless, and the marginalized. DeerGrove participates in an annual offering to CWR in the fall with our SoupFest celebration. Learn more about Covenant World Relief.

Feed My Starving Children
We serve Feed My Starving Children at their Schaumburg packing location. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit where children and adults hand-pack meals for malnourished children and then ship these meals around the world. Learn more about Feed My Starving Children.

Serve Trips
We engage in a three-year rotation of trips that are local, national, and international.  Our Serve Trip for Summer 2017 was Ecuador!
