Partners for Our Communities (POC) connects underserved residents of  Palatine, and surrounding areas, to services and resources in order to build a community of empowered people, healthy families, and vibrant neighborhoods. We serve with the POC in many ways including tutoring, mentoring, and hands-on projects. The most regular way to engage with DeerGrove and the POC is through Birthday Club.

POC Birthday Club—Monthly during the school year, we host a birthday party for the children at one of the POC after-school sites!

Global 6K for Clean Water

Partnering with World Vision, the ECC participates annually in the global 6K  for clean water. 6K, which is about 3.7 miles, is the average distance that people in the developing world walk for water – water that is often contaminated with life threatening diseases. Each year, “Team DeerGrove” participates in the 6K along with thousands of others from around the globe in order to bring life changing clean water to communities in need.
