Serve Trip 2017: Padernales, Ecuador

In April of 2016 a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit the coast of Ecuador with devastating force. The coastal region of Ecuador was paralyzed with the destruction of homes, businesses and churches. The earthquake killed and injured thousands and also left the majority homeless. One year later there is still debris in the streets and people living in tent cities for fear of returning to their homes.

This summer from July 1st to 15th 25 members of DeerGrove Covenant Church will be traveling to Pedernales, Ecuador, the epicenter of the earthquake. We will work with La Iglesia Del Pacto Pedernales (Pedernales Covenant Church) to help rebuild their building. This church will again become a town center for the physical, emotional and of course spiritual needs of this broken community. Our church will work to help with construction, a children’s program, and a sports camp. We hope to bring encouragement and contribute to this church’s desire to reach out to their community. .

We invite you to partner with us through:

  • Prayer:  Please consider praying for the people of Pedernales, praying for our team as we prepare for the trip.
  • If you are able, please consider making a contribution to fund our trip.

Thank you for supporting our team!
