Celebrating the Light of Advent

click HERE to access our Community Advent Devotional

In this season when we are united by Christ yet separated by miles, we pray that this Community Devotional Study will create a sacred space for us to come together to celebrate the Hope, Peace, Joy and Love of Advent. The Devotional is designed to go along with the lighting of the Advent Wreath, which we will light each week together during Community Worship, sharing in the sacred ritual that has been carried on through generations, as we anticipate the birth of Christ, the Light of the World!

We encourage everyone to create a daily rhythm for the Advent season to incorporate intentional devotional time ~ a few minutes at the beginning of the day, dinner time or before bed for example ~ to light the Advent candles and dwell in the Word. We pray that spending time in the Scripture readings and prayers will allow us to be more attentive to the presence of the Holy Spirit inside of us, allowing us to rest in the peace of God’s loving arms. May we feel the light of Christ warming our souls this season.

We will continue to share Community Worship on Facebook Live at 10:30 Sunday mornings; it has been such a blessing to share worship with our DeerGrove brothers and sisters across the country and around the world!

We invite everyone to join in a Life Group, meeting either socially distanced in-person or via Zoom throughout the week. In this season we are reminded even more that the Church is the community and we are blessed to have a vibrant community of believers at DeerGrove!
